Philadelphia’s Univox are ready to take listeners back to a time when pop music had balls. Citing masters such as The Kinks, The Who and David Bowie as their primary influences, Josh Jones, Joe Bonaventura III, Rob DeCarolis and Kent Boersma are about to take “pop” back from all the unbearable crybabies that are currently glutting the charts and airwaves with their debut “Lying Fuck” 7” , available now from ROIR.
Co-produced by Bill Moriarity (Man Man, Dr. Dog), “Lying Fuck” is a memorable testament to Univox’s prowess and musical muscle. This band of pop misfits combine 70’s sensibilities with Motown and punk influences to craft catchy compelling songs that are elusive and engaging in a very charming yet brutal way. Univox are going on tour in the US this summer to support their freshman release before returning to the studio with Moriarty in the fall to work on their first full-length.
