Bush Tetras are crossing the East River to play this Friday at the literally-named venue, 285 Kent, with blog darlings The Coathangers, Friends & Religious to Damn.

The show is a Village Voice top recommendation for the weekend, and the ‘Voice says of the “inspired, eclectic” lineup: “it’s the Chex mix of shows with varied options for anyone looking to party”. Who doesn’t want to party on the first weekend of the summer?

Bush Tetras “Too Many Creeps” the Greatest New York Song Ever?
Posted January 13th, 2011 in press shows

Lots of Bush Tetras tidbits in the press this week… New York Magazine asks “The Greatest Song: “New York State of Mind,” “Across 110th Street,” or “Too Many Creeps”?” Of course you know what our answer is… and we hope it’s yours too!

NPR also has featured the Bush Tetras in their great women in post-punk mix, dedicated to Ari Up of The Slits. Speaking of Ari Up, I hope you’ve heard about the Ari Up Punky Reggae Birthday Party this Sunday at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Full details after the jump…

Bush Tetras were featured in New York Magazine’s “Ultimate New York Playlist

23. “Too Many Creeps,” Bush Tetras, 1980
It’s natural, after living in an urban environment for a while, to begin to loathe humanity. These jaded, stylish post-punk babes wrote the ultimate angular anthem to blast as you hightail it upstate for a weekend spent with nobody.

Watch the video for “Too Many Creeps” below. You can find both the video and the song on the Bush Tetra’s latest album, Very Very Happy.
