Bad Cop debuts new video on PopMatters
Posted March 23rd, 2011 in press

Bad Cop‘s new video for “I’m In Lust With You” (taken off their debut album Harvest the Beast)  premiered today on PopMatters:

Also up on PopMatters is a demo version of a new song “Wet Lips”, originally debut on Subba Cultcha. The final version of this song will be available on a 7″ released this summer… and guess who will be releasing the 7″? That’s right.* Don’t turn the dial!

Culture Bully says:

“Wet Lips” is sloppy, slightly spacey and fully raging, but from the sound of things the demo doesn’t compare to the version of the track which will be released on the 7″.

Bad Cop’s Harvest the Beast has Sailor Jerry bloggers “all riled up”!
Posted September 8th, 2010 in press

Tattoos & rum are two things that many of us here are personally fond of. So that’s why we’re stoked the masters of both, Sailor Jerry, are fond of us too. By us, I mean Bad Cop’s new album, but close enough?

What makes this debut such a keeper? Well, it’s a bit hard to put my finger on, as is the band’s music. Songs alternate between dept store guitar-drenched, moody, post-punk snippets and balls-out, 70’s rock n’ roll riffs. It’s these interesting juxtapositions of seemingly incompatible styles and techniques that lift this record out of the genre dumpster and place it up on the repeated listens shelf.

23. “Too Many Creeps,” Bush Tetras, 1980
It’s natural, after living in an urban environment for a while, to begin to loathe humanity. These jaded, stylish post-punk babes wrote the ultimate angular anthem to blast as you hightail it upstate for a weekend spent with nobody.

Watch the video for “Too Many Creeps” below. You can find both the video and the song on the Bush Tetra’s latest album, Very Very Happy.

Univox’s debut 7″ reviewed in this months’ Big Takeover Magazine
Posted January 15th, 2010 in ROIR
From Big Takeover Issue #65 (on stands now):

This is anthemic indie pop rock with smart hooks and big ideas coming in from the Philly scene. ‘Pi’ is the standout track and an instant classic that seemingly smashes every musical genre from the last 30 years in to one 2:14 minute spurt. Can’t wait for the full-length!

Well, sheeee-it.
