We’re stoked that PopMatters digs our new releases so much they’re premiering a bunch of videos! This one is by Legendary Pink Dots, whose 30th Anniversary album “Seconds Late for the Brighton Line” is now available for pre-order!
We also have another special announcement from the Legendary Pink Dots…. it’s no secret that Amanda Palmer loves the Legendary Pink Dots but what we’ve not been able to tell anybody until now is that Amanda has asked them to play the Dresden Dolls very special Halloween show at Irving Plaza!

“Harvest The Beast” is the debut album from Nashville’s Bad Cop. It’s uncompromising. It’s unique. It’s fresh and it will rock your ass off and it’s out now on CD!
IMPOSE MAGAZINE SAYS: “It’s a soulful, greasy, howlin’ whiteboy kind of rant-rock that’s even greater than the sum of all its crazy parts, a frantic, no-holds-barred, “fuck the rules” kind of album that we desperately need right now… Let’s just say that what we have here is one of the albums of the year, mos def, and leave it at that.”
eMusic says:
Hailing from Nashville, Bad Cop are a young band associated with the likes of Jemina Pearl/Be Your Own Pet and JEFF The Brotherhood. Their sprawling debut LP, Harvest The Beast, is full of dirty blues riffs, lively chants and usually-hazy vocals, and at times they channel the likes of the Strokes or the Arctic Monkeys… They might be young, but when frontman Adam Moult sings, “I don’t know if I’ll live tomorrow/ It’s quite a rush to live this way” in album opener “Amores Perros,” it sounds like they’re having a good enough time that getting old is the least of their concerns.

All Music Guide says:
…sounds like it was recorded 35 years ago: the tapes were mastered directly to vinyl, which was used as the master recording for the CD release. So there’s a warmth and thickness to the sound that complements perfectly, for example, the elastic rocksteady rhythm of “Dillinger” and the glistening guitars and one-drop thump of “Belle Star.” If you liked this band’s first five albums, you’ll love this one — and you’ll almost certainly love their next five albums as well. Each release finds them digging deeper and deeper into the very same groove. And good for them. One can only hope that the “Volume 1″ in the title suggests a dubwise companion to this album in the near future.
Check out this video clip of 10 Ft. in the studio recording their album!
“The concept for the Pi video came to me the same way my songs normally do: IN A VISION FROM GOD! So I wrote down the vision as a video treatment, and then, after reading it, God sent me an estimate for how much it should cost: $110.”
The video is dedicated to the late music British journalist Steven Wells, who while writing for the Philadelphia Weekly challenged the band to make a video.
